PC Foundation hosted 7th annual Principal for a Day

On November 20th, Putnam City Public Schools Foundation hosted its 7th annual Principal for a Day.  Business and community leaders spent the morning at district schools shadowing the principal, visiting classrooms, talking with teachers and students, and touring the schools.  The purpose of the program is to help create an awareness and understanding of the issues facing Putnam City schools and open the door to business-education partnerships.  Volunteer principals met with their school principal just before school started, then spent the morning experiencing a day in the life at a Putnam City school.  At lunch time, the principals and business leaders met back at the administration building to share their experiences with Putnam City administrators and Foundation board members.

"What we've learned from this program in the past is that when people get a chance to see a school in action, they come away extremely impressed with the commitment, passion and skill of district teachers and administrators.  It's a catalyst for greater understanding and support," said James Dickson, past-president of the Putnam City Foundation.

Over the last 20 years, the Putnam City Public Schools Foundation has invested more than $1 million in Putnam City schools.  We've helped enhance and enrich education for our students and teachers.  Together we are creating better citizens and a stronger community.  For more information about this and other programs, please log onto the website at www.pcf4kids.org or call (405)495-5200 x1205.
